Dawid Bartczak / Working together
Device software and companion applications
I connect devices with applications, backends and diagnostic tools. Explore Byteflow, InVault and the InGuest system currently in development.
Let’s discuss your projectWhen it makes sense
A device is often one part of a larger solution. It needs configuration, communication with a computer or server, updates and a way to diagnose problems. I design these elements together around how people will use the hardware day to day.
Possible scope
Hardware communication
Handling data and commands between a device and an application. Protocols, formats and behaviour when a connection drops depend on the specific hardware.
Configuration and management
A web interface or desktop application for settings, status and operation history. User and device permissions are part of the system design.
Diagnostics and updates
Tools for preparing software, flashing it and identifying errors. The scope depends on whether the device is a prototype, under testing or an existing product being developed further.
Where we start
We first examine the documentation, device interfaces and sample communication. Then we build a minimal path from the device to the application to verify the assumptions. That provides a basis for expanding operation, configuration and servicing tools.
Examples of my work
Byteflow is an application for serial port communication. My InVault work covered the device, its software, management interface and diagnostic tools. InGuest connects tabletop devices with a restaurant backend; it remains in development, and operational panel integration is not yet complete.
Before we begin
What is needed to get started?
A description of the device, interface documentation, sample data and access to test hardware. Operating conditions and expected behaviour without a network are useful too.
Can we start with a prototype?
Yes — the first scope can focus on communication and one function. A prototype verifies selected assumptions; it does not establish production or certification readiness.
Describe your project
Describe the device, how it communicates and what the application should do. Include a documentation link if it is public, and explain the current stage of the project.
